15.

When they came for us, they came full force, holding nothing back. A bright light, piercing beyond our closed eyelids and into our skulls startled us as it boasted near brightness to that of a rockets blast. Startled and blinded, Michelle and I split apart. It was the exact reaction they were looking for, as four Nazi soldiers entered, two on Michelle and two on me.

I was grabbed by one, who extremely oversized, threw me into the corner of the room. I gave little resistance, but began to become uneasy at the sounds of Michelle’s wailing shrieks. Her voice sent glass breaking, shattering screams into the room, spiraling like the winds of a screeching hurricane.

The very sound sent chills down my spine. I knew the more that I did not comply, the more people around me would get hurt. But I could not help to want to react to Michelle’s fearful cries.

Michelle would not go willingly. Every which way the two soldiers would grab her, she would find another way out. When they became impatient with her antics, one grabbed a handful of her hair, while the other gave her a full forced punch to the face. As Michelle went limp, the two soldiers drug her out by her hair.

The switch flipped. I had seen enough. The oversized Nazi had me in the corner, knee at the lower part of my back, while the other stood next to me, gun pointed at my head. The second the heavyset guy tried to pull me from the corner was the moment I stopped thinking of safety.

Once his knee dropped, I turned quickly like a tornado. My right hand jabbed the big Nazi boy right in the neck, while the other hand went for the gun. Just as my fingers touched the muzzle, moving it millimeters, a round was shot off, whizzing and nicking my left ear. I got a full grip of the muzzle this time, ripping it from the hand of the now caught off guard soldier. Hand, now gripping the shaft of the gun, I took the butt of it and hit the soldier a few times in the head. As he fell to the floor, I dropped the gun. Naked, I casually walked to the opened doorway and waited.

As the bigger guy finally got control of his breathing after my jab, pissed and eyes filled with anger, cautiously, he walked towards me.

My left cheekbone was raised, left eye squinted and right brow lifted. It was a na na na boo boo, look what I can do do, look. The door was wide open, but I did not run. What was the point? I had no idea where I was.

I held my ground as the big guy finally reached me. He grabbed at his neck and twisted his head about, all the while keeping eye contact. He was not one happy fellow.

I waited for it, and as planned, took a knuckle pie to the face. There was always that wonderful spike of pain before I lost unconsciousness.
